Compliance and crisis management - avoiding liability for managers

The workshop as part of the "KBW Führungskräfte-Special" for compliance officers and managers in the public sector on current developments and hot topics in compliance.

In this workshop, lawyer Dr. Rostalski will teach the basics of compliance in the public sector. The necessity of an appropriate compliance risk analysis will be discussed as well as the legally compliant implementation of individual compliance measures. Current developments and hot topics in compliance will be highlighted using practical examples. The focus here will be on the establishment and operation of internal reporting offices in accordance with the Whistleblower Protection Act and current developments in the area of corruption prevention. In the second part of the workshop, selected crisis scenarios (from cyber attacks to house searches) and related recommendations for action will be discussed. In this context, the workshop will also provide an overview of typical criminal and liability law risks to which public officials are exposed (including corruption, breach of trust and tax misconduct). Practical cases will be used to discuss strategies for minimizing liability risks for managers.
